The collaboration between Vinnter and Hubbau - Competence that lasts, right from the start

How do you help a newly graduated engineer to land safely in their first job and at the same time meet the expectations of some of Sweden's most advanced development teams?

It is a challenge that we at Vinnter have been involved in solving, together with Hubbau. They are part of Vinngroup and have done something really smart: they build talent programs for newly graduated engineers where training and onboarding are just as important as the assignment itself.

For us, it started with a specific case, where young talents were going into a very complex R&D environment to be involved in developing a new software system. Based on what the team already brought with them from school, and what would be required in their new roles, we sat down: Vinnter, Hubbau and technical representatives from the customer, and started sketching out a solution. The result was a tailor-made training package where we at Vinnter built content and held the delivery.

We talked embedded, code standards, architecture, and testing. We dived into Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. One of the courses, which Oscar Hellström at Vinnter built - CI/CD - has become a bit of a favorite: we have run it several times now, with small adjustments, and it constantly gets high marks.

"It's great to share the experience I've gained in software development. CI/CD could be better taught at the universities, but often the focus is more on programming than product development, I think.", says Oscar Hellström, Embedded developer at Vinnter

"It is quite unusual for these technical courses to receive such high marks, as there is always a complexity in taking into account previous knowledge and the participants' daily tasks. But the training was so good that we chose to make it bigger.", says Oscar Hällström, CEO and founder of Hubbau.

Fun fact: Yes, both are called Oscar - but they represent two different companies. Oscar Hellström works as an Embedded developer at Vinnter, and Oscar Hällström is the CEO and founder of Hubbau.

We are incredibly happy to be part of Hubbau's journey. This collaboration is an example of what happens when specialist expertise is allowed to take place already in onboarding. When education becomes a natural part of future-proofing skills and when we dare to think long-term even in junior recruitments.
